Charles Layton spoke to the audience to clarify his acceptance of the nomination for treasurer. He said he would be unable to serve for the entire term due to other commitments, but will serve until a replacement is found. Ken Buckley then publicly thanked Charles for the excellent job he has done as treasurer.
Paul Dunlap explained to the audience that he did not accept the nomination for president because of an increased out of town work load, and asked the membership to help continue the good work that the O.G. Home Owners has done. He told people to continue reporting to the Township anything they feel needs attention, and if enough residents complain the Township will respond. Also, urge your neighbors to join our organization.
New Business.
A resident, Isabelle McCutcheon, who lives on the south side of town, complained about the loud sirens coming from Bradley Beach. President Dunlap said he would look into the matter.
Some members of the audience spoke further about the pros and cons of parking meters. One resident thought the issue of parking meters should be turned over to the Planning Board.
A resident, Jack Bredin, moved that the Ocean Grove Home Owners Association is opposed to parking meters in Ocean Grove. Seconded by Craig Woodland. After discussion among members of the audience, Denis McCarthy moved to table the motion. Seconded by Carol Livingstone. President Dunlap asked for a vote by a show of hands on the motion to table. Result: 22 to table the motion; 27 to overrule the motion to table. The president asked for a vote by a show of hands on the original motion. Result: 39 yes; 12 no.
After a brief intermission, president Dunlap introduced today’s guest, Rev. Scott Hoffman, Chief Administrative Officer of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. Rev.
